PROFESSIONAL ACADEMY

NURSING
The Nursing program is designed to introduce students to the basic
knowledge and skills needed for entry into the health care field.
Students will study:
• medical terminology
• human anatomy & physiology
• common diseases & illnesses
• basic patient care skills
• communication
• infection control
• safe clinical practices
Students’ ethical and legal responsibilities will be integrated
throughout the program. During the junior year, the students will
learn about medical assisting through theory, demonstrations and
laboratory skills practice. A clinical practicum during the senior year
will provide the required hands-on patient care necessary to fulfill
the requirements of the Nursing Assistant program. Upon completion,
students are eligible to apply for the Nevada State Board of
Nursing certification exam to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

RESPIRATORY THERAPY
The Respiratory Therapy program introduces students to respiratory
careers, ethics, assessment techniques, diseases, as well as
infection control. Students learn about respiratory equipment and
will become certified in CPR. There will be extensive job shadowing
opportunities for students to gain real-world experience in:
• intensive care
• neonatal care
• emergency air transport
• hyperbaric oxygen therapy and more!
This program explores future job opportunities in the exciting
medical field such as a traveling respiratory care practitioner, which
provides opportunities to travel and work in other states or
countries after completion of a college program.

DENTAL ASSISTING PROGRAM

Students who choose to enroll in the Dental Assisting program will
learn patient care, office practices, and laboratory duties that
commonly appear in a dental office. Enjoy a state-of-the-art
learning environment that includes real dental chairs.

AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE TECHNOLOGY
In our Automotive and Mechanical Technology program, you will
learn the latest technology in gasoline, diesel, hybrid, and alternative
fuel vehicles. You will also learn about vehicle systems,
principles of engineering, and industrial fabrication. You will engage
in problem-based learning projects on actual vehicles and trainers
using the latest industry tools and equipment. When you graduate
from this academy, you will have a variety of post-secondary
opportunities at schools such as CSN and UTI, as well as traditional
colleges and universities.

CULINARY ARTS
As a student in our Culinary Arts program, you will study food
nutrition, culinary art techniques, and food management. You will
work with our school’s hospitality students to host school and
community functions to gain practical experience in this exciting
field of work. Learning in a state-of-the-art kitchen, you will
practice culinary skills used by all chefs. Course work is articulated
so that you will earn college credits.

HOSPITALITY TRAVEL & TOURISM

In our Hospitality, Travel and Tourism program, you will engage in
hotel management, marketing, and the travel and tourism industry
that is important to our community in Las Vegas and the world
today. Working with the school’s culinary program, you will plan and
execute multiple school and community functions. To gain practical
experience, you will participate in an internship program in some of
our city’s finest hospitality, travel & tourism businesses or properties.

DESIGN ACADEMY

ENTERTAINMENT ENGINEERING
The Entertainment Engineering Design program will prepare you for
work in the diverse, technical world of the entertainment industry
designing the state-of-the-art automated mechanical systems that
amaze audiences all over the world. Students will gain experience in
mechanical, electrical, automation and fabrication skills as they
relate to the entertainment industry. Post-secondary opportunities
exist with the College of Southern Nevada through an Associate of
Science in Mechanical Technologies, or at the University of Nevada
Las Vegas through a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or
Entertainment Engineering programs as well as traditional Engineering
programs at schools across the country.

FASHION DESIGN
As a Fashion Design student, you will be educated about the
fundamentals and applications of design. You will be able to design
your own garments, participate in fashion shows, and meet industry
professionals. During your senior year, you will have an opportunity
to participate in an internship program and implement the skills you
have learned in creating a product line. This design program will
prepare you for the future in fashion design and will open major
opportunities related to the fashion and design world.

INTERIOR DESIGN PROGRAM

Students in the Interior Design program will acquire knowledge in
housing styles, architecture, and furnishings. You will create your
own design boards, construct scaled models/floor plans, design
computerized renderings through Chief Architect, a CADD illustration
program, learn sketching and graphic design presentation skills
and more. Your completed samples of your work will be compiled
into a digital portfolio to showcase your design skills, and will be a
tool to showcase your talents as you enter a post-secondary interior
design or architecture program.

VIDEO GAME TECHNOLOGY
The Digital Game Development program will provide you with
practical experience in game design and development. You will take
classes using high-end animation programs like Flash and Maya and
utilize a wide variety of programming languages and software.
Using state-of-the-art technologies, you will take digital games from
concept to completion and compete in local, state, and national
competitions. Whether you are interested in pursuing
post-secondary opportunities or entering the job market after high
school, our Digital Game Development program will prepare you.

WEB DESIGN
There is a growing demand for qualified website developers. Our
Website Design and Development Program will prepare you for this
exciting and challenging field, while providing you a well-rounded
background suitable for post-secondary education or entry into the
work force. While at our school as a Web Development student, you
will study web design, 2D graphic design, 3D graphics and
animations, video and audio production for the web, database
management & e-Commerce, server management, and current
website programming trends. You will compete in local, state and
national competitions and create a digital portfolio that is sure to set
you apart from the competition.
