Hi and welcome to the SWCTA Web Design & Development Program. My name is Ms. Cindi Chang and here is a little bit about me…….

Education & Experience:

My two degrees are in Computers and Business Management Information Systems, and I have also completed university coursework to earn my Advanced Studies Certificate in Computers. I am a National Honor Society Award recipient – graduating Magna Cum Laude, and recently received the 2012 Nevada State Career & Technical Education Teacher of the Year award.

I have been teaching with the Clark County School District since Fall of 2006. I was a computer programming instructor and network administrator (ECS)  at Palo Verde High School in Summerlin prior to my assignment here at the Southwest CTA in 2010.  I have previously instructed in the following subjects:  Computer Science I, II AP & III AP, Website Science, Video Game Technologies, Intro to Computers, A+ Certification and Tech Service & Support.

I have been a website and graphic design business owner/consultant (9 yrs), a magazine editor for Goal Nevada (6 yrs), and a former online business magazine editor and programmer (4 yrs) prior to my career move to teaching. I still do freelance website and graphic design as time permits.

I also sit on several Curriculum Task Force Committees to work with my colleagues on making sure our district and state standards align with what the industry is looking for, so you will have a better chance at graduating from our Academy with the skills necessary to make you successful in college, in the workplace, and in life.

Activities and Hobbies:

Playing / watching soccer, skiing, computers (of course), drawing & painting, camping, going to the beach (California girl), playing with my dog Bear, and spending time with family and friends.
