I hope you had a wonderful winter break and you are ready to learn more about web development!!

Just to let you knwinners2013ow.....7 of our school's students (5 of them from web) traveled to Kansas City this summer to compete in the SkillsUSA National Championships. We traveled with about 200 contestants from our state and competed with about 10,000 contestants from around the nation.  Our two web students who just graduated (Jody Pham and Michael Huebner c/o 2013) competed against 45 other states and came in SECOND PLACE in the nation winning a SILVER MEDAL!! Interior Design student William Zheng (c/o 2013) won silver as well. Of the 6 medals that our state won overall nationally....THREE of the medals came to our school!!!

You are cordially invited to observe and/or participate in the FIRST EVER Southwest Career and Technical Academy's - "Imagine Tomorrow: S.W.C.T.A. Information Technology Conference 2012".  This conference will be delivered by the freshman, sophomore and junior classes in the Hospitality, Video Game and Web Development programs on our campus.

The students have invited close to 200 local middle school students to attend. These students will participate in an opening session to acquaint them with our campus and listen to community service opportunities of their own. In addition, they will attend different workshops on Google Apps for Education, iWeb, Google Sites, Photoshop, video game design and MORE taught by our video game and web development students.

We hope you will be able to spend some time with us and see how this next generation has captured the spirit of community service.
