Meet Mrs. Clark

Hello, my name is Maureen Clark. I was born and raised in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.  I moved to Henderson in 1988, but still enjoy everything that has to do with my home state; packers, brats, cheese curds and four seasons.

Education & Experience:

I teach graphics design and animation classes in the Video Game Technology and Web Design programs areas at the Southwest Career and Technical Academy. I have been teaching art, computer graphics, animation and web design course for the past 26 years in Clark County School District.

I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis Campus) in Art Education. My master’s degree is from Northern Arizona University. In 2006, I earned my National Board Certified Instructor endorsement in Career and Technical Educations with an emphasis in Graphic Communications.  Recently, I earned my ACE (Adobe Certified Educator) certificate in Photoshop.

My past students have been SkillsUSA state champions and competed at the National Championships in Kansas City in Advertising Design, 3D Animation, Quiz Bowl, Promotional Bulletin Board and Chapter Display.  Other students in the past have been recognized in various local/national publications and competitions, along with having their work displayed.  I look forward to many more years of success with SWCTA students.

So, what do I do for fun?

I enjoy riding my road bike around the Vegas Valley. I completed my first century ride (104 miles) in October 2010. The toughest ride I have ever done? The Hell’s Gate Hundred in Death Valley. This summer I have started mountain biking in the mountains of Utah. I’ll let you know how that goes!
