Soon we will have a working Google Classroom and I will post things of this nature and “lecture” notes onto that forum, but in the meantime, here is a copy of the “Thinking Errors” documents we are using to support our Psychoanalytic Analysis of a character from The Crucible.
Good Evening! I very much enjoyed our first day of class together. Please download a free QR Scanning App. We will be using QR codes for logistical reasons in class (restroom log, checking out my classroom books, late assignments), because it makes keeping documentation so easy.
It’s a little strange to conduct beginning of the school year assessments, procedures, and familiarization activities on the 18th day of school, but… alas, we are where we are and that’s where we’ll begin.

Here is the link for Evernote. Sign-up for a free account and play around with it. It’s a fantastic journaling site and you will be encouraged to use it for content notes, research, and projects.
I am absolutely delighted to be a member of the SWCTA team!
Allow me to introduce… myself.
I am a military spouse, mother of three and a half (my husband refuses to put the dog in the Will), avid reader and writer, triathlete, veteran, Trojan, try-er-outer, and traveler (and alliterator…).
I adore English Language Arts and Educational Theory in equal parts. I am a massive geek and I obsess over curriculum and learning opportunities in the moments between books and enjoying my crazy family.
We have a lot of exiting work ahead for the 2016-2017 school year. Some of our consistent assignments will be Poetry Slams, Book Talks, Writer’s Workshops, and Literary Theory Analysis. I can’t wait to get started! Students will need:
3-4 70-page spiral notebooks over the course of the year and a place (binder or whatnot) to take notes. We will be using technology as much as possible in the classroom, so please let me know if there is any issue with connectivity at home or with cell phones. In the near future I will link to a platform that hosts our class curriculum. We will also be creating digital interactive notebooks using Evernote, so please sign up for a free account.
Once again, I am ecstatic about the opportunity to work with such talented admin, staff, faculty, and students. It probably can’t be overstated, but I’ll leave it for now.
Never forget, Winter is Coming (but, unfortunately, it’s not likely to happen this school year).
